US distributor Sandra Carter Global is teaming with a US advertising agency to launch a wide range of Internet channels. SCG has the domain name clickchannel.tv and wants to roll out the Internet service early next year.
Sandra Carter told TBIvision there will be up to 100 channels that can be navigated from the main site and they will feature a range of content that SCG has the rights to. SCG will repurpose current and library programming into short vignettes that can be viewed online.
Carter said the advertising agency in question will work in conjunction with Google to sell ad space around the content. She hopes to launch the first channels around April or May of next year.
Separately, SCG has concluded a raft of sales for entertainment news series The Hollywood Reporter. New episodes have been picked up by SABC in South Africa, HBO Latin America, TV2 in Bulgaria, CET 21 in the Czech Republic, Zee in India and Canal+ in Scandinavia.
