Ex-Hit Entertainment and TV Loonland exec John Bullivant has set up a new indie and is producing a live-action show for CITV (UK), Captain Mack.
Originally commissioned by ITV in 2005 and planned as an animated show, the colourful 52x11mins live-action Captain Mack is aimed at 4-to-6-year olds and follows the adventures of the eponymous Sky Captain.
It debuts on CITV next month. It has not been confirmed but Granada International is expected to distribute the show internationally.
Fireback is an amalgamation of Bullivant’s Kickback Media and Fireback co-founder Iain Russell’s Fire Mountain Productions.
Bullivant says that the new company is also looking to develop drama projects as well as kids TV and has had meetings with all of the UK free-to-air channels. It will also work on movies and is developing a family movie with Germany’s Silver Screen Associates.
