BBC Worldwide is launching its first Chinese co-production for its international boutique of channels on Beijing ahead of the Olympic Games.
This is the company’s first such production agreement since its launch two years ago.
BBC Worldwide’s Global Channels, the international channel arm of the British public broadcaster, has inked a deal with Chinese producer Beijing TV and Singaporean production agency Media Development Authority (MDA) to launch 12x1hour documentary series A History of Beijing.
The series, which will look at the history of the city and its people, will bow on BBC Knowledge in August and will be also air via BBC Knowledge in Poland and on BBC Prime in a number of other European territories.
