Australia’s main pay TV platforms Foxtel and Austar and advertising sales group MCn have formulated a new ratings system for the country’s subscription TV sector.
The new audience measurement system will capture data from 10,000 Australian pay TV homes – making the survey base eight times larger than that used in the previous system.
It will also measure digital video recorder usage for the first time and viewer response to interactive advertising.
The full measurement system will be up and running by July 2009.
