Endemol France acquires Loveland format

Endemol France has picked up the French format rights to interactive dating format Loveland after it struck a deal with distributor Target Entertainment.

The French production company will produce the series and shop it to French broadcasters.

The show, which sees one contestant pick a partner from three virtually enhanced suitors, is produced by UK indie Standing Stone, which was founded by Mentorn founder and former CEO FremantleMedia North America Tom Gutteridge. The show, which will be hosted by former Blind Date host Cilla Black, will air later this spring on Sky One

In the show the contestants get animated alter egos, dubbed ‘nu-yus’, and, using real-time animation these digitally enhanced characters answer questions and are eliminated one at a time.

Deals will involve a standard format fee and the hiring of the hardware/software required to handle the virtual enhancements, the L-Box, which is developed by Belgian animation company Nazooka.
