NBC to launch US version of I’m A Celebrity

US network NBC is set to launch a local version of British reality format I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

The network is in talks with Granada America, the US arm of British commercial broadcaster ITV, to remake the format as a possible stripped series.

The series has appeared previously in the States where ABC launched a US version of the celebrity survival series in 2003.

This will be one of the first commissions from Paul Telegdy, NBC’s new president of alternative programming. The former BBC Worldwide executive joined the network last month.
