FremantleMedia has inked a first look deal with entertainment producer Magnum Media, which was set up by former Channel 4 entertainment commissioner Andy Auerbach and ex-Princess Productions head of entertainment Dean Nabarro.
The deal allows FremantleMedia to distribute Channel 4’s Chris Moyles’ Quiz Night internationally, both as a finished program and as a format.
Vasha Wallace, SVP, format acquisitions, FremantleMedia, told TBIvision: “The deal is through FremantleMedia’s Talent Fund, which has money ringfenced for talented people and production companies. We were interested and think we could make their formats travel. It’s an overall deal, we haven’t taken a stake.”
The show is being launched internationally as Celebrity Quiz Night and combines celebrity guests and gaming.
Magnum Media is currently in development with a range of new entertainment formats and is expecting a number of new commissions.
This deal follows a number of similar arrangements such as deals with Bea Ballard’s 10 Star Entertainment and Ashton Kutcher’s Katalyst Media.
