BBC Worldwide has sold music series Later… with Jools Holland to Ovation TV in the US. The arts and culture cable channel has picked up exclusive rights to 27 new episodes of the show, which airs on the BBC’s BBC Two channel in the UK.
Ovation will kick of the music series run with a Later… with Jools Holland marathon over Labor Day weekend, ahead of the show taking up a regular Thursday night slot, starting September 10. Guests in the upcoming series include Metallica, The Killers, Grace Jones and Seasick Steve.
Ovation was relaunched in mid-2007 and transmits arts and culture programming. It is backed by the Weinstein Company, Hubbard Broadcasting and a group of private funds.
Later… was previously distributed by UK indie 3DD and aired on the now defunct Rave HD channel in the US. The Ovation deal was brokered by BBC Worldwide America.
