Sci Fi UK picks up pair of big-ticket US series

NBC’s Sci Fi channel in the UK has picked up Disney-distributed Sam Raimi-produced  fantasy series Legend of the Seeker and renewed a deal for Fox-distributed Joss Whedon series Dollhouse.

Sci Fi has taken UK pay TV rights to both series. Dollhouse airs on the Fox network in the UK and the second season will premiere on Sci Fi UK later this year. The series stars Eliza Dushku as Echo, one of a breed of agents whose memories are wiped clean in order that they can complete various missions.

Legend of the Seeker will also debut later this year. The 22x1hr series went straight to syndication in the US. Shot in New Zealand, the show follows young mountain guide who embarks upon a quest to prevent the evil Darken Rahl capturing an all-powerful magical box.
