Italian distributors have clubbed together to create a new industry group, the Italian Association of Audiovisual Distributors (Associazione Italiana Distributori Audiovisivi -AIDA).
Launching the nine-company strong group the organisers said its aims were to protect rights owners and set up an ethical code for members.
“With the market rapidly evolving from both a technological and legislative point of view, the audiovisual market is only catching up, and does not guarantee a respect of the rules or protection of the rights owners,” AIDA said in a statement.
The group will be run by Clelia Iemma, founder of Italian distributor Videoshow.
The full list of member companies is: D4 Videoshow; A-Pictures; Lilium Distribution; GA&A Group; CDI; Monica Carpi; Sveva Filippani Ronconi; Daniela Amoni Distribuzione and Pina Di Nozzi.
AIDA will have a stand at MIP TV next month.
