Warner Bros inks Russian volume deal

US studio Warner Bros has inked a volume deal with Russia’s TNT.

The deal gives the Russian broadcaster free TV rights to a range of new and library TV and movie output from Warners.

TV content from last year’s season covered by the deal include V, which airs on ABC in the US and The Vampire Diaries, which has been renewed for a second season by US network The CW.

TNT will also get shows from the upcoming 2010-2011 TV season.

The Russian broadcaster also gets animated programming from Warner’s branded animation block.

Warner Bros and TNT did not specify the length of the programming deal, describing it as ‘multiyear’.

“We are pleased to begin this new relationship with TNT Broadcasting Network to deliver our world-class films, television series and animated titles to viewers throughout Russia in primetime,” said Jeffrey Schlesinger, president, Warner Bros International Television.
