Nigerian broadcaster Silverbird TV (STV) is to launch a Nickelodeon kids block after striking a deal with MTV Networks International.
The free-to-air broadcaster will launch series including Dora The Explorer, Go, Diego, Go!, Avatar and SpongeBob SquarePants as part of the block, which will air for one hour at 4pm on weekdays and for an hour on Saturday mornings.
The channel, which airs in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Benin and Jos, currently airs a number of animated kids series including Warner Bros Animation’s The Zeta Racer and Speed Racer.
The deal was inked between Silverbird Entertainment president Guy Murray-Bruce and Alex Okosi, senior VP, MTV Networks Africa.
