MTV closes raft of programme deals

MTV Networks International has closed a raft of deals for its comedy and reality series.

The programme sales arm of the Viacom-owned broadcaster has sold Comedy Central series John Oliver Stand Up Show to Swedish public broadcaster SVT, while TV5 in Finland has picked up two seasons of Ashton Kutcher-fronted reality series Punk’d, as has Slovenia’s Viasat.

Russian broadcaster 2×2 Channel has acquired the first season of Spike’s animated series Gary The Rat, which stars the voice of Frasier’s Kelsey Grammer. Belgian network VTM has also bought Comedy Central sketch comedy Jeff Durnham Show.

Meanwhile, the distributor has sold the third season of The Sarah Silverman Show into Latin America to Sony Pictures Entertainment.
