Dutch producer and distributor Talpa Media is to launch a range of live events based on its hit dating format Dating in the Dark.
The formats company, which is owned by John De Mol’s investment company Cyrte Investments, has sold the format to over twenty territories including to US network ABC, UK pay broadcaster Living and France’s TF1.
“We’re going to be looking at live events, it’s something that we’re currently looking in to, particularly in the UK,” Maarten Meijs, managing director of Talpa Distribution, told TBIvision.
“Dating in the Dark has a very interesting psychological twist, what happens if you take away vision? Over the course of a date it becomes very intense, it’s a timecooker of love,” he adds.
