Zodiak, RDF rebrand as Zodiak Media Group

Zodiak Entertainment and RDF Media Group are to rebrand as Zodiak Media Group following Zodiak’s acquisition of the UK producer and distributor.

Zodiak acquired RDF in June 2010 in a deal that values the new entity, which will be run by chief executive David Frank, valued close to €1 billion (US$1.3 billion).

The international distribution arm of the company will be rebranded Zodiak Rights, which will be headed by chief executive Matthew Frank, and RDF USA and Zodiak Entertainment US will be merged to become Zodiak USA.

The brands RDF Media Group, Marathon Group, Magnolia Group and Zodiak Television Group will no longer exist, although the brands will continue as local production companies.

“The rebranding of the group and the move to a new divisional structure based on the Zodiak name will enable us to operate more effectively as a group and leverage greater value from the scale of our combined businesses and our geographical spread. A strong Zodiak brand will assist our local companies. We want to think globally and deliver locally,” said chief executive David Frank.
