John Cresswell, the ex-COO of UK commercial broadcaster ITV, has taken the CEO position at Arqiva, the UK-based transmissions company, which is also a stakeholder in the YouView connected TV service.
The ex-ITV man replaces Tom Bennie, who has been at Arqiva for over 30 years.
Cresswell, who also served as interim CEO at ITV following Michael Grade’s departure and was linked to the permanent position, starts in the new role next week.
Arqiva owns a large chunk of the UK’s broadcast infrastructure and is halfway through delivering the technical aspects of the £700 million switch from analogue TV to digital in the UK. It’s annual revenues are about £850 million.
