Disney Media Distribution, the international sales arm of the Hollywood studio, has established a sales team in Singapore and has poached former Sony Pictures exec Janet Eng to run it.
The distributor is launching a programme sales team in the country for the first time and is expanding its Asian reach from its headquarters in Hong Kong.
It has appointed Janet Eng, who was executive director, distribution at Sony Pictures, as regional director, programme distribution for pan-regional and southeast Asia.
The company is also relocating Emma Hu, senior manager of programme distribution for southeast Asia from Hong Kong to Singapore. Hu was previously based in Beijing, where she grew the company’s content sales business in China.
