UK indie Zig Zag has struck an agreement with Japanese entertainment company Yoshimoto Creative Agency, clearing the way for its formats to be launched in Japan and Asia.
The pair will also co-develop new formats, TBIvision understands.
Under the terms of the agreement, new shows will be made for Western and international markets, but are expected to launch first in Japan.
It is understood that his company has also optioned a pair of Japanese entertainment formats from local free-to-air broadcaster Nippon TV, the creator of Dragon’s Den.
Zig Zag boss Danny Fenton is in Los Angeles and was unavailable for comment.
