Gary Marenzi, president, worldwide television at MGM has left the Hollywood studio.
This follows the appointment of former NBC Universal and Chum executive Roma Khanna as president, television group and digital.
Marenzi has subsequently relaunched his consulting business Marenzi & Associates, which has previously worked with clients including Lucasfilm, IMAX, TV4 Sweden and Germany’s ProSiebenSat.1.
Marenzi originally worked at MGM between 1992 and 1997 and rejoined the company in May 2007 following a stint as president of international television for Paramount Pictures.
He was responsible for distributing the company’s library of movies including the James Bond franchise and TV series including MTV’s recent remake of Teen Wolf to international broadcasters.
Khanna, who will oversee all television sales, production, acquisitions, licensing, content creation and digital initiatives for MGM worldwide, is expected to join next month. In the interim Marenzi’s duties will be handled by EVP, international TV distribution Chris Ottinger.
