Hollywood studio Sony Pictures Television has struck a first look coproduction deal with Mexican producer and distributor Televisa.
The deal will give Sony first look at all of Televisa’s scripted and unscripted formats to potentially coproduce internationally, excluding the United States and Latin America.
Meanwhile, Televisa, the world’s largest producer of Spanish-language content will get first look at Sony’s SPT scripted formats for possible coproduction in Spain. Sony has previously produced international versions of Everybody Loves Raymond, Married with Children and King of Queens.
The deal was struck by Jose Antonio Bastón Patiño, president of television and content for Televisa and Andrea Wong, president of international production for Sony Pictures Television.
