The US networks are deep into development season and have spent the past few weeks frantically ordering pilots ahead of this year’s Upfronts and LA Screenings. TBI takes a look at some of the most interesting projects that are up for consideration.
#15: Ben Fox Is My Manny (Fox)
What’s the new Modern Family? This is a question that all of the broadcast networks have been asking since the comedy series broke out a few years ago.
Fox is hoping that it can replicate the success with Ben Fox Is My Manny, a single camera comedy penned by Dana Fox (What Happens In Vegas). The show, which will star Saturday Night Live’s Abby Elliott, follows a single mother whose younger brother moves in with her to help care for her kid.
Ben Fox Is My Manny is produced by 20th Century Television Fox in association with Chernin Entertainment.
Chances: Fair; comedy is a very tough genre to break, but Ben Fox Is My Manny stands as good a chance as any this year.
