Turner Broadcasting is launching a new live action and animated series Team Toon that it is coproducing with FremantleMedia Enterprises.
The 26x3mins series, which is also produced by Larry Schwartz and His Band, is for Cartoon Network in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and will also air in Asia.
FremantleMedia Enterprises will distribute the series outside of EMEA and Asia-Pacfic.
The series is aimed at 6-11 year olds and follows the toon-infused adventures of a group of friends, who created an online animated series Pyscho Squirrel.
Cecilia Persson, VP, and president of acquisitions and coproductions, EMEA, Turner Broadcasting said: “Team Toon is an irresistibly creative and quirky series about kids interpreting their experiences through imagination and play. By putting on their “Toon Faces”, the characters are able to create cartoons in the real world, an imaginative premise sure to strike a chord with our audience. The show uses sophisticated production techniques, both in its mixed media format and its ‘show within a show’ concept and it will be an exciting addition to our live action line-up on Cartoon Network.”
