House’s David Shore inks Sony deal

House creator David Shore has left NBC Universal and has inked an overall production deal with Sony Pictures Television.

Sony has been ramping up its activities in broadcast television and has overall deals with a number of high profile showrunners and writers including Vince Gilligan, Ron Moore and Greg Malins.

Shore has signed a three year deal and will turn his Shore Z Productions into a full-fledged production company.

As well as creating House, which recently ended after a successful eight season run on Fox, Shore wrote on series including Law & Order, Beggars and Choosers and Family Law. In 2009 he also developed a modern day version of The Rockford Files that wasn’t picked up.
