US broadcast network ABC has orders eight episodes of SevenOne International’s cooking show The Taste.
The cooking format will feature celebrity cooks Nigella Lawson and Anthony Bourdain. Each will head up a panel of four amateur and professional chefs that compete against each other.
The teams will compete over two rounds, a team challenge and an individual challenge.
The show was created by SevenOne-backed Kinetic Content, which will also produce the series.
Caroline Kusser, director North America for SevenOne International, said, “Anthony Bourdain´s trademark of holding nothing back coupled with Nigella Lawson´s extensive culinary experience create a strong backbone for a completely innovative cooking competition. We are thrilled about ABC´s pick-up and look forward to capitalising on this success with a series of strong international partnerships.”
