ITV acquires Graham Norton’s So Television

British commercial broadcaster ITV has acquired Graham Norton’s production company So Television.
The move marks the latest expansion of the network and fits with its plan to boost its production capabilities, both in the UK and internationally.

ITV Studios, the production arm of the company, paid £10 million upfront for the company with a further cash payment of £7 million contingent on So Television’s profit performance in the next four years.

The company, which was set up by comedian Norton and Graham Stuart, focuses on comedy and entertainment series and produces The Graham Norton Show and The Sarah Millican Television Programme.

Denise O’Donoghue, managing director, ITV Studios UK, said: “So Television is known for its creative rigour and intense quality-control across its programming, whether that is its crown jewel, The Graham Norton Show, or its newer but no less brilliant The Sarah Millican Television Programme.
