French conglomerate Lagardère has rebranded its international distribution arm Europe Images to Lagardère Entertainment Rights (LE Rights).
Emmanuelle Bouilhaguet, managing director of the distribution arm, told TBI that one of the goals of the rebrand is to extend its sales presence out of Europe and close more global deals.
“Because it’s part of the group, it’s important to have the same name. Now it’s time to have a little refresh,” she added.
This comes ahead of MIPCOM, where the company will launch new series including Transporter: The Series and Xiaolin.
The new company will now also begin to deficit finance international series.
“The value of rights has become fundamental in our profession,” added Christophe Thoral, COO, Lagardère Entertainment. “It is essential for Lagardère Entertainment, a leader in French audiovisual production, to draw on the strengths of a powerful distribution company such as LE Rights.”
