Warner Bros. picks up quirky Canadian dating format Wanted

Warner Bros. International Television Production has picked up rights to Canadian dating series Wanted.

The show is made by Canadian producer Trio Orange and in Canada debuted on V Tele earlier this month.

The format sees a psychologist and police profiling experts help a singleton find a partner through issuing a ‘wanted’ notice online dating sites. The respondents then have to pass a variety of tests.

“Trio Orange has put a fresh spin on the genre by turning it into a police-style hunt,” said Andrew Zein, senior VP, creative, format development and sales WBITVP. “This unique twist leads to surprising and effective match-ups and will be attractive to international producers and audiences alike, so we believe that the format will travel well around the globe.”
