Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald D. Moore’s latest series will broadcast on US cablenet Syfy.
Thirteen-part sci-fi thriller Helix (WT) brings Moore, best known for the Syfy reboot of Battlestar Galactica, together with Sony Pictures Television. Production begins shortly for launch on Syfy later this year.
It tells the story of a team of scientists that travel to the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak, only to find themselves pulled into a struggle for mankind’s survival.
Moore executive produces with Lynda Obst (Sleepless in Seattle, Contact), Steven Maeda (Lost, CSI: Miami, The X-Files) and Cameron Porsandeh, who co-wrote the show’s pilot.
