Singaporean broadcaster MediaCorp has inked a format deal with Thailand’s public broadcaster for its competitive debating programme The Arena.
In the show, students are gathered and compete in a debate in ‘The Arena’ in an attempt to impress judges and the audience, which votes on the winner.
Thai PBS will start production on its version of the series in May and it will debut in early July on the pubcaster. MediaCorp said it will provide production expertise.
Tang Yun Leung, vice president of Content Distribution at MediaCorp said: “This is the first time Thai PBS has bought a programme format from us and we are glad The Arena fits and suits its content requirements.”
