Discovery Communications has handed a promotion to thematic channel Destination America’s senior VP, content strategy.
In the expanded role of the channel’s general manager, Marc Etkind will lead business strategy, programming, development, production and cross-platform promotion.
Etkind joined Destination America in September 2011 and has since developed series such as BBQ Pitmasters, Hillbilly Blood and United States of Bacon. The net has subsequently experienced 20 months of primetime gains in key demographics.
