Shaw becomes the first announced international broadcaster for Sony Pictures Television-produced crime drama Blacklist, which will broadcast on NBC was arguably the most talked about show at last month’s LA Screenings.
The broadcaster has also acquired dramas Almost Human from Warner Bros., Dracula and Ironside from NBCUniversal International Television and Sleepy Hollow from Twentieth Century Fox Television.
On the comedy front, it has picked up Sony-distributed Welcome to the Family and The Michael J. Fox Show, NBCUI’s Sean Saves the World ad CBS Studios International’s We Are Men and The Millers. It has also gone for talk series The Queen Latifah Show. Bones, Chicago Fire, Elementary, Family Guy, Glee, Hawaii Five-0, NCIS, NCIS:LA, The Simpsons and Survivor all return.
It has acquired midseason dramas Chicago PD, Crossbones, Rake and Reckless; original Canadian series Remedy; the reboot of 24, 24: Live Another Day; comedies About a Boy and Canadian original Working the Engels; and Seth MacFarlane-produced docu-series Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey.
In further news, Shaw has announced the launch of DTour, a speciality lifestyle channel that will launch on August 26. Its series will include reality series Rock Mt RV with Bret Michaels (WT), hotel reality series Hotel Impossible, survivalist show Get Lost (WT), archive show Mysteries at the Museum and docu-series Burger Land.
Shaw already operates lifestyle channels such as HGTV, Food Network, Slice and DIY Network.
