HBO’s sports unit has scored a first-look deal with broadcast journalist Soledad O’Brien and her production company Starfish Media Group.
Time Warner-owned premium cablenet HBO will now have a first look at Starfish’s scripted projects and long-form programming. Prodco Starfish is best known for O’Brien’s journalism for the likes of CNN.
Under further terms of the deal, Soledad will join HBO’s magazine series Real Sport with Bryant Gumbel.
