Lovefilm has acquired Copper, the BBC America period drama series.
The show is produced by Cineflix and sold by its distribution arm, Cineflix Rights, which sealed the UK deal for the show.
Lovefilm, which is owed by Amazon, will make the show available to its UK subscribers from Friday (September 13). It will make all episodes available simultaneously.
The show is set in 1860s New York City and follows tough police detective Kevin Corcoran. It was created by Tom Fontana (Homicide: Life on the Street).
Simon Morris, chief marketing officer at Lovefilm said: “We’re always looking to bring great new TV content to British viewers, and following the success of [MGM-distributed History network series Vikings] it’s exciting to see the faith content creators have in our platform as a way to launch new shows in this country.”
In the UK its service costs £5.99 a month putting it in direct competition with Netflix.
