Belgian cable operator Telenet has launched two new TV offerings that span linear TV, video-on-demand and multiscreen.
Rex and Rio will be available over Telenet’s Digicorder and Digibox set-tops on any screen in the home, via wireless internet and as part of Telenet’s Yelo multiscreen offering.
The packages will make available a large selection of Flemish and international channels, series and films, according toTelenet. The services will be available as part of Yelo TV in the near future. Telenet said that it was also working to make shows and movies available todownload onto mobile devices for viewing offline.
Rex offers a choice of thousands of Flemish films and TV series, popular shows, documentaries and children’s programmes, as well as 20 theme channels, according to Telenet. The offering also includes 20 thematic channels including Lacht!, History Channel, Animal Planet, Disney Junior and Baby TV.
The Rio offering includes all of Rex plus all HBO shows, available a few days after they are aired in the US, 300 movie releases a year before they are aired elsewhere, including Ted, The Hobbit and De Rouille et d’Os, and 20 additional channels including premium film and series channels.
