According to a Wall Street Journal report, which cites people familiar with the situation, Hulu is discussing potential partnerships with Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, AT&T and Verizon Communications.
The WSJ claims that Hulu is hoping that the providers will sell Hulu Plus as part of their pay TV offering and also make the service accessible through their set-top boxes, but added that the firms are “months away” from any deal.
The news comes less than a month after Hulu confirmed the appointment of Fox Networks executive Mike Hopkins as its new CEO. He replaced interim chief executive Andy Forssell, who has left the company.
Separately Hulu announced yesterday that a version of its Hulu Plus app will be available for Sony’s new PlayStation 4 console in the US from Friday.
