More hires at NBCU Cable Entertainment

NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment continues to tinker with its executive line-up, with Oxygen’s Brie Miranda Bryant the latest to get a new role.

Bryant, currently senior director of development and production, has been elevated to VP, development and production, original programming. Based out of New York, she’ll report into Cori Abraham, senior VP, development and international.

Former Conde Nast staffer Bryant has been with Oxygen since 2004 in which time she has worked on shows such as Preachers of LA, Bad Girls Club and Snapped: Killer Couples.

“Brie has proven to be an invaluable member of Oxygen’s production and development team with her outstanding creative vision and ability to identify breakout characters and trends,” said Abraham. “As we continue to increase original programming, Brie will help deliver more innovative and ground-breaking hits that speak to our young female audience.”

Bryant’s promotion represents the latest executive changes at NBCU Cable Entertainment, coming a day after Bravo’s head of development Andy Cohen exited to launch his own production company, with Lara Spotts replacing him.

Comcast-owned NBCU Cable Entertainment, part of NBCUniversal, has consolidated this year under chairman Bonnie Hammer, and has made top level changes at channels such as USA Network and Syfy. Yesterday, it acquired 100% of the shares in kids channel Sprout.
