The sales arm of Italian pubcaster Rai is taking drama The Broken Years, police thriller Antidrug Squad 2 and romantic comedy-mystery hybrid The Family 2 to Cannes.
The Broken Years (Gli Anni Spezzati) is a contemporary drama that looks at the violence confrontation between terrorists and state power in the late 1970s told over three 2x100mins miniseries. Graziano Diana directed for producer Albatross Entertainment.
Antidrug Squad 2 (La Narcotici 2) comes from Goodtime and Beta Production and will screen at MIPTV in its international debut. The 6x100mins drama follows a special police squad set up to win Italy’s war on drugs.
The Family 2 (Una Grande Famiglia 2)is billed as a contemporary saga that elends the rom com and drama and mystery genres. Rai’s drama production arm Rai Fiction coproduced the show with Magnolia.
Rai Trade will also be focusing on sales of Bibi Film and Rai Fiction miniseries It’s Never too Late and preschool series such as T-Rex Digimation and Rai Fiction’s 26x5mins Dixiland and Onda Videoproduzioni and Ascent Film’s Bing, pre-teen drama Star Key and family film Pet Pals in Windland from Gruppo Alcuni.
