NBC has given The Mysteries of Laura a full season order.
The drama show is based upon Los Misterios de Laura, the Spanish Boomerang TV-produced format, which aired on pubcaster TVE.
Todd Lituchy’s content company New Media Vision shopped the Spanish format to Warner Bros., which made the pilot for NBC. The US broadcast net has now confirmed it will take a full series.
The US version of the Spanish show will be distributed by Warner Bros.’ programme sales arm.
The series follows the life and relationships of a female homicide detective ‘who can handle murderous criminals – but not her mischievous twins’.
Lituchy, meanwhile, will be one of the NBC show’s exec producers. NMV is shopping several other scripted formats internationally.
