The agreement will also see the Historia service, which reaches viewers in the Quebec region, take some branding from History, incorporating the channel’s ‘H’ insignia into its own logo.
Mountain Men, Appalachian Outlaws, Down East Dickering (pictured) and No Man’s Land are among the History series that will go out on Historia. The channel already shows History shows including Pawn Stars, American Pickers, American Restoration and Counting Cars.
“We’re delighted to partner with one of the biggest players in the television business,” said Mario Cecchini, president, Corus Media. “This deal will enrich our broadcasting package with shows produced by a world-renowned brand.”
Fabrice Brasier, vice president, programming, at Historia added: “These programmes will complement our distinctive existing content, which includes original productions produced in Quebec and form the basis of our identity and success.”
