Cineflix Media has cut a deal with Strong Island Films and will get an option to coproduce all of the US prodco’s projects, and a first-look on international distribution for North American content from the company.
Strong Island was set up by veteran producer Rob Dorfmann (pictured) and documentary filmmaker Cindy DePasquale at the start of the year.
It saw the pair combine their respective prodcos, Dorfmann’s Los Angeles based I.A.O. Productions and DePasquale’s London based Castlefranco Flims.
US-UK-focused Strong Island Films, which will be based in Cineflix’s US office, has development deals in place with HGTV, Investigation Discovery and FremantleMedia North America.
Glen Salzman, Cineflix Media cofounder and co-CEO said: “Cindy and Rob, two powerhouse producers, are known for creating innovative and highly rated content, and with the new projects they have already in development we’re off to a great start.”
Dorfmann added: “We couldn’t be more excited to have partnered with Cineflix. They’ve given Strong Island Films the financial support and creative freedom to allow us do what we do best – produce amazing programming.”
