Original Media’s new co-presidents and CEOs Steven Weinstock and Glenda Hersh are bringing staff from their other prodco, True Entertainment, to the Swamp People producer.
The True founders (pictured) were handed control of Original this year upon the exit of Daniel Laikind, and are now bringing the two Endemol Shine North America production companies closer together.
Brenda Hurley, who was COO of True, has been handed the same role at Original as well. She will now oversee production, finance, accounting and human resources at both New York-based prodcos.
Nikki Borrelli has been promoted from VP, production at True to senior VP, production and operations at Original. She had been with True, which produces The Real Housewives of Atlanta, for 13 years.
Elsewhere, Todd Huvitz has been drafted in as SVP, current programming. He has been showrunner on shows such as Mel B: It’s a Scary World for Style Network and Town of the Living Dead for Syfy.
Hurvitz and Borrelli will work alongside Kelly Hefner, who is SVP of development at Original.
Hurvitz will also be lined manager to another new hire, Lisa Bloch, who will be VP, current programming.
Endemol Shine North America co-CEO Charlie Corwin founded Original with Clara Markowicz in 2002, and five years later sold it to Endemol, which became Endemol Shine Group at the end of last year.
Weinstock and Hersh co-founded True in 2000 and sold to Endemol three years later.
“The most gratifying part of leading Original Media these last four months has been building a team of some of the most talented and industrious producers and executives in our business,” they said in a statement.
“In addition to elevating Brenda Hurley, who has been an integral part of True’s success, we are thrilled to welcome Nikki, Todd and Lisa, whose combined backgrounds represent many of the shows that propelled unscripted television into the zeitgeist.”
