Discovery Kids Latin America and Canadian networks TVOntario and Tele Quebec have signed up for PingPong, a 52x5mins animated preschool coproduction from Canada and Brazil.
The three channels have all secured development deals for the series, which is being coproduced by Brazilian animation studio TV PinGuim and Canada’s Kondololé Films following a deal between the pair.
PingPong is further notable as the first project to receive an international award from Brazil’s SP Cine and the Canadian Media Fund as part of an initiative to foster creativity and innovate content creation between the two territories, which sit at either end of the Americas.
Music-based PingPong is being produced in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese, and will follow a bird and dog duo who embark on journeys to find perfect words for their songs. It will include a variety of musical genres such as bossa nova and rock.
An airdate for the show has yet to be finalised.
