Coridass renews ZDFE deal to 2020

coridass_1Alexander Coridass, the boss of ZDF Enterprises, has renewed his deal at the German distributor for another five years.

ZDFE is the commercial arm of German pubcaster ZDF and Coridass’ new contract will see him stay at the company until at least 2020. He has been at ZDFE since 1998.

Thomas Bellut, chairman of the supervisory board of ZDF Enterprises, said: “Alexander is an accomplished manager and astute businessman, who is well known in both the national and international media industry. He has played a key role in ensuring that ZDF and ZDF Enterprises, with German and foreign business partners, have an outstanding reputation.”

ZDFE is based in Mainz and has a staff of about 120 and, group wide, generated revenue of Euro209 million last year. It sells factual, drama and kids fare and was one of the distributors that spearheaded the international sale of Nordic Noir scripted fare.

Coridass said: “There is a clear direction for the years to come: we will continue to develop German and international projects for both the classic television and the non-linear market and shall exploit them on a global scale. The moving image has a bright future, whichever platform it is on, and we will play an active part in it.”
