Endemol Shine inks deal with hologram firm

The US division of Endemol Shine has inked a deal with Hologram USA, a holographic projection firm formed by FilmOn founder Alki David.

The deal was struck between reality TV producer Justin Hochberg’s Just Entertainment, which works out of Endemol Shine’s US base and has a first-look with the production group, and Hologram, which is based in Beverly Hills.

Under the terms of the deal, Just and Endemol Shine North America take exclusive rights to develop TV programming using Hologram USA’s patented technology, and life rights to many of the international performers in its stable.

Hologram USA has rights to the patented technologies used to create life-size, hologram-like images across all platforms It has rights to use the images of talent including Whitney Houston, who will be on a hologram world tour in 2016, Buddy Holly, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette and Bing Crosby.

Entrepreneur and founder of the controversial FilmOn streaming service David is behind the firm. He will exec produce all programming developed from the Endemol Shine and Just partnership.

“The stories we’re telling with this new medium are incredible, and the TV programming we’ll create together will add unbelievable reach to new audiences,” he said.
