Cuse created the show with Ryan Condal (Hercules). Set in the near future, it follows a family struggling to survive in a Los Angeles that has been occupied by a mysterious military force.
Legendary, the independent US studio recently acquired by China’s Dalian Wanda, produces and sells Colony and struck the Sky deal. It has previously shopped it to TF1 in France and Turner in Latin America.
In the US the series goes out on cable net USA Network, which has ordered a second season.
Sky will play the series on its flagship Sky 1 channel in the UK, launching it on Thursday, April 7, in a 9pm slot.
The pay TV operator has been stocking up on US drama recently, adding Showtime series to its Sky Atlantic line-up across Europe, and acquiring Shades of Blue andNashville for Sky Living in the UK.
