Another network joins int’l Globo drama

Scripted-logo-460_2Supermax 2Uruguayan network Teledoce has become the latest coproducer of Globo’s first international drama, Supermax.

Last week, Mediaset España and Mexico’s TV Azteca became partners on the show, which Brazil’s Globo first revealed in January at NATPE in Miami.

Teledoce has now joined as a further strategic partner.

“We are delighted to have Teledoce on board for this new project,” said Globo’s executive director, international business Raphael Corrêa Netto. “We have a longstanding partnership dating back some 40 years ago, when we sold our first product for the international market – O Bem Amado – in 1973. Since then, Teledoce has been a strategic partner in our growth.”

Teledoce’s programming manager, Eugenio Restano Scheck said the globalized market warranted “the search for common projects, where synergies help enhance the production thereof”.

“Hopefully this type of alliance is the beginning of a long way to go together,” he added.

Teledoce will now coproduce with Globo, TVP in Argentina, Mediaset, TV Azteca and producer Oficina Burman, with filming currently taking place at Globo Studios in Rio, Brazil.

Globo bills it as blurring the line “between reality shows and fiction like no other before”.
