Buccieri’s new role hands him control of A+E Studios as well as the A+E networks group, reporting to company president and CEO Nancy Dubuc.
“The growth of A+E Studios is a major priority for us as content ownership and capabilities are vital for our future growth,” she said.
“With his wealth of experience successfully running ITV and the extraordinary business acumen he has displayed during his tenure at A+E, I am confident Paul will lead the team to new heights and drive strong results.”
A+E said Buccieri will run the production unit and run the channel businesses for the A&E, History, Lifetime, FYI and LMN brands.
Buccieri has been at A+E since 2014 when he joined the channels group from ITV Studios, where he was running the UK broadcaster’s US operation and distribution arm. A seasoned media exec, he has also been at Fox and Endemol.
“Nancy has laid out an ambitious vision and growth plan for A+E Studios and I am grateful to her for trusting me to execute it,” said Buccieri.
“I look forward to following in Bob’s esteemed footsteps and partnering with Barry Jossen and the entire Studios’ team on building upon the extraordinary work they have already done.”
A+E has built its own studio to service its US and international channels with premium drama for the past three years. Its major success has been UnReal (pictured).
DeBitetto was its founder exec, building the business from scratch. His exit comes after 14 years.
