Black-ish has been a ratings and critical success for ABC, and is currently in its second season on US broadcast television.
The series follows Anthony Anderson and his African-American family, who try to balance their upper middle-class lifestyles with their heritage.
It comes from ABC Studios, and is sold internationally by Disney Media Distribution, with Disney UK & Ireland doing the deal with Channel 4.
E4 already plays US comedies such as The Big Bang Theory and Scream Queens, and is a coproducing a comedy-drama, Foreign Bodies, with Turner-owned cable network TNT. Parent network Channel 4 recently bought NBC drama This Is It.
Black-ish becomes the latest US comedy heading into the UK, following ITV’s recent deal for new season sitcom The Great Indoors.
