All3Media has restructured its German operation, getting rid of the MME Moviement brand and putting all of its local activity under the All3Media Deutschland umbrella.
Markus Schäfer will run the newly branded operation, which will be focused on three production brands: Filmpool Entertainment, Filmpool Fiction Tower Productions, a joint venture with BBC Worldwide. The MME Me, Myself & Eye Entertainment prodcos have already been folded into Tower.
Under the new structure Dirk Koep will be group director finance, Marcus Lee will be general counsel & commercial director and Mark Stehli will be director production and corporate development. The German business will be based out of a new Munich office.
“The move from our traditional holding company offices in the centre of Munich to a creative and communicative environment is symbolic of our group’s ongoing development,” Schäfer told staff. “As the umbrella company, all3media Deutschland GmbH will support the producer labels in the areas of finance, legal matters and organisation, and will focus on strategic tasks.
“Also included here is the continued growth of our group which we intend to actively drive forward with measures such as the newly created functions in a producer market which is in a process of ongoing consolidation.”
All3Media CEO Jane Turton added: “The further development of the structures at all3media Deutschland and the significant improvement in the positioning of our producer label have been a success. This, together with the management team responsible, means that we are excellently positioned to grow in the German market – which will play an important role in our international growth strategy – and to integrate other producers and production companies into our group.”
Schäfer will also take charge of All3Media’s operations in the Netherlands, including local prodco IDTV. Speaking about the Dutch business, Turton said: “Following the successful further development of our activities in the German market by Markus Schäfer, we are in no doubt that he will also make an important contribution for the further development of IDTV in Holland, too. We look forward to working with him in this new role.”
