Amazon likes smell of Stilton

Kids-logo-460_2Geronimo StiltonSubscription VOD service Amazon Prime Video has acquired seasons one and two of Atlantyca Entertainment’s popular toon, about an intrepid mouse journalist.

Atlantyca has joined Amazon’s Streaming Partners Program, which launched last year, with all 52 episodes of Geronimo made available to Amazon Prime subscribers immediately.

Atlantyca’s US agent and IP manager, Global Genesis Group, oversaw the agreement, which marks the first major SVOD deal for Italy-based Atlantyca.

“This new partnership permits us to get our content to Amazon’s Prime members easily and quickly, bringing Geronimo Stilton’s animated stories to our US-based fans,” said Caterina Vacchi, Atlantyca’s head of animation and executive producer.

Amazon’s over-the-top streaming program lets Amazon Prime customers manage different video subscriptions via Amazon, with the e-retail giant taking responsibility for customer service, billing, device compatibility, content serving and streaming infrastructure.

It debuted in December last year, with Showtime, AMC and Starz.
